(Authentic) POWERFUL PEOPLE "Truly" Serve Others WELL!
Mr. Ted Williams media blitz is surely a rags to riches story . According to the media interviews being given by Mr. Williams, it would appear that he just showed up at the right time and his luck changed for the best. He also stated in a TV appearance that "God is good". Don't get me wrong I am a champion for anyone who has an opportunity to do better.
However, my concern is that Mr. Williams chose to do drugs and alcohol in 1993 when he was working and supporting his family. He left his family which consisted of a wife and nine children. While he was absent from the home his wife had to receive public assistance to make ends meet for her family. He admitted that he never paid child support because his wife didn't ask him to nor did child support ever garnish his wages.
Upon his own admission he didn't make the effort at all. He merely decided to leave them to fend for themselves. His children admits that after they were adults they assisted him in whatever way that they could. They admit he was a good father and they loved him.
So, now my question is whose blessing is he receiving? Could it be that God has a blessing for someone else and had to go through him to allow them to receive it? I believe in redemption and know that God forgives all sins if we just ask. The real story is yet to be revealed.
Everyone is so quick to jump on the bandwagon and treat him like royalty. What example are we really showing our young men? Should we really parade a deadbeat father around as if he has not caused the suffering of his children and family? Where do we draw the line? How low will we go for the show?
There are a lot of other causes and issues that could be publicized that would make a real difference in the lives of others. Yet, we focus on something as insignificant as a VOICE. I am so glad that God is better to us than we are to ourselves. I'm not surprised at all because this is a country where people took care of "pet rocks".
