LUCKY 7 RECORDS & LIGHTENING ENTERTAINMENT INC. ARE GEARING UP TO PUT A SUMMER TOUR TOGETHER, HONORING "THE WILSON FAMILY" [Updated & Corrected]
May 1, 2009 - Lucky 7 Records, & Lightening Entertainment Inc. are working to put a summer tour together honoring the legendary "Wilson Family".
"The tour's main purpose is honoring the history and legacy of "The Wilson Family" (Lowell Fulson, Ronnie Wilson, Robert Wilson and Charlie Wilson). "The Generation Gap Tour" will consist of current artist from the Wilson family, such as; Andre "Dre Boogie" Wilson, Blaqthoven, Casey Wilson, Brian Wilson & Jelly Roll. There will also be special guest performing on the ticket with the sole purpose of honoring the Wilson family past and present, says Frank Wilson, Chairman of LUCKY 7 RECORDS.
The tour will begin at the hometown of the Wilson family, Tulsa Oklahoma. The acts performing on the tour will come from all musical genres: R&B, Hip Hop, Rap, Blues, and Jazz. "The history of the Wilson's in the music industry covers these genres," states Frank Wilson. "You can hear the WIL-SOUND in almost all music being produced today."

The Wilson family has been established in the music industry for 70 years. The Wilson Brothers aka The Gap Band: Charlie, Ronnie, and Robert Wilson have been performing together since the late 60's, and have received or been nominated for numerous awards and is considered by industry standards as a multi-platinum group from Oklahoma. Moreover, 20 years prior their cousin Lowell Fulson(Wilson) also from Tulsa, was making waves in the blues arena with Lowell Fulson and The Lowell Fulson Band . The Lowell Fulson Band afforded the opportunity for the late-great Ray Charles, and Stanley Turrentine to get their start in the music industry. Lowell was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1993 for " Best Traditional Blues Album. " His song titled " Reconsider Baby " was chosen by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the top 500 songs that shaped Rock and Roll. In 2004 film titled, "Ray" featuring Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, Uncle Lowell was portrayed by blues musician Chris Thomas King.
The next generation of Wilson's have taken the baton to the next level by producing and providing vocals for Artist such as Mary J. Blige, Jodeci, Faith Evans, Battle Cat, Christopher Williams and Snoop Dogg. Keep your eyes and ears open for: Casey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Andre "Dre Boogie" Wilson, Brian Wilson & Blaqthoven. The next generation of Wilson's has plans to continue to release "Platinum" hits, but intend to do it independently by owning and operating a production company, independent label and entertainment distribution company.
