1)      Pebble’s maiden name is Perri McKissack.  She is now 46-years old and was born in Oakland, California.

2)      Pebbles got her start in entertainment in the 1980s as a backup singer to band leader Bill Summers and the funk group Con Funk Shun.

3)      Her biggest hits were during the late 1980s and early 1990s, including “Girlfriend,” and “Mercedes Boy.”

4)      After some musical success, Pebbles founded her own label, “Savvy Records,” which was related to Pebbitone.  She later discovered the group TLC, which sold an album that went 11-times platinum, “Crazy, Sexy, Cool.”

5)      Pebbles’ decision to leave the secular music industry is believed to be driven by the stress of dealing with allegations that she’d mismanaged TLC.  Also, during that time, her marriage to LA Reid was falling apart.

6)      Pebbles is now a minister, going under the name of “Sister Perri.”  She just released her fourth album, a gospel piece called “Prophetic Flows Vol I & II.”

 

7)      She is probably still doing quite well financially.  After earning tens of millions of dollars from TLC and her marriage to LA Reid, Pebbles later married former Major League Baseball player Otis Nixon.

8) Perri and Nixon divorced in 2004.  Nixon had a long series of problems with drugs and was arrested for possession as recently as 2013.

TLC Biopic To Feature R&B Singer Pebbles, Actress Cast For Role

The upcoming TLC biopic will not only cover the group's  relationship with Dallas Austin, it will also feature Pebbles, the R&B singer that managed  the girls early on.

Actress Rochelle Aytes ("Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion," "Mistresses") has been cast to play Pebbles, starring alongside  Evan Ross, who will play Dallas  Austin.

As previously reported, the biopic is currently in production, with  KeKe Palmer, Lil Mama and Drew Sidora  landing leading roles as Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas (Palmer), Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes (Lil  Mama) and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins  (Sidora).

T-Boz and Chilli are executive producing the pic, which will cover  not only TLC's success, but struggles in  the music industry.
