Bruce Charles Sudano (born September 26, 1948) is a singer/songwriter/producer best known for his collaboration with and marriage to singer
Donna Summer, and the group he co-founded,
Brooklyn Dreams.

Sudano was originally a member of the band
Alive N Kickin', who had a big hit in 1970 called "Tighter, Tighter". Sudano left the band to return to his hometown and found the group
Brooklyn Dreams.
Brooklyn Dreams is best-known for collaborating with
Donna Summer. The group's duet with Donna Summer entitled "Heaven Knows", with group member
Joe Bean Espositosinging with Summer, peaked at #4 on the Hot 100 chart and was a million-selling Gold single in 1979.

As a solo artist, Sudano was voted AC Artist of the Year in 2004 by
New Music Weekly for his CD,
Rainy Day Soul. His follow-up CD,
Life & the Romanticreleased in 2009, includes AC Song of the Year, "It's Her Wedding Day" as well as the smooth jazz favorites "A Glass of Red & the Sunset" and "Beyond Forever".

As a songwriter he's had songs recorded by numerous singers including Tommy James, Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson and Donna Summer.

Family

Sudano married Summer in 1980, and they have two daughters.
Brooklyn (b. January 5, 1981), and Amanda Grace (b. August 11, 1982). Summer's eldest daughter, Mimi, who can be heard saying "good night" on the
Live and More album at the end of "Mimi's Song", was a product of her marriage to
Austrian Helmut Sommer. Sudano and Summer are grandparents by way of daughter Mimi. The couple resided outside of
Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his solo efforts, Sudano often accompanied his wife as a musician and backup singer. On May 17, 2012, wife Donna Summer died from lung cancer.^[1]

A Note from Bruce Sudano  Saturday, August 18, 2012

When My Wife Was My Girlfriend We grew up with a transitor radio under our pillows and experienced the transition of doo wop into rock n roll, soul and motown. We played all of it in clubs for years. ...

In 1978 after the release of the first Brooklyn Dreams album, due to our association with Donna and the power of Casablanca Records, we got invited to host and perform on the then hugely popular, Midnight Special. Here's a live performance of a medley we put together with my then girlfriend. For those of you who view this and think, I never realized Bruce was that weird! Yes, I was and still can be. We never know when that guy will show up, especially when the cameras are rolling.
