GEECHEE™ magazine is designed to Educate and Empower the general public, with special interest to the fifteen (15) to sixty-five (65) age group including both sexes. The subject matter will include community, educational, entertaining, business, and consumer type information. The unique feature of GEECHEE™ includes its location in the land of Gullah (from where the name derives), its editorial simplicity, and its focus on the local community as an integral part of the global community. Also, the editorial content and consumer feedback will be an awakening for the world. The magazine will be a high gloss, 50+ pages, contemporary in look and appeal. Quality artwork and editorial content is the constant goal. The magazine will be entertaining, newsworthy, and thought-provoking. It will appeal to a broad readership. No magazine like it is available today.
Merger Publications will have exclusive rights to GEECHEE™ magazine for all print and digital media, electronic media (Internet home page, CD-ROM, Interactive Publications, Virtual Publications, etc.), catalogue business, and possible seminars and workshops devoted to the business.
The target market is broadly based and is defined as the In-Crowd. In-Crowd by our definition refers to a new breed of peeps that are cognizant, who have an interest in preserving the Gullah culture and want to be informed and inspired by its many contributions to society.
Our strategy is based on serving a clearly defined niche market well. By having an identifiable market with available lists and related affiliation, Merger Publications believes we can exceed publishing standards for conversion of potential subscribers. The majority of our readership is a passionate and loyal clientele. A thirst exist for the published periodical product that GEECHEE™ magazine will provide. The task is to reach and inform the target market. The strategy is to combine sampling, e-mail and solicitation to build readership through on-line distribution. Multi-channel distribution principles will be employed. Each has a differing margin structure but the combination will maximize the potential reach of the magazine.
